Last year we had our 2010 studio headphone shoot out consisting of 5 of the most popular brands of closed back circumaural studio headphones. To our surprise Shure won taking out brands that have been in the headphone game a lot longer and costing more (I ended up buying a pair for myself). So I was excited to find out they have released a new flagship model the SRH940 I decided to see how it stacked up against last years winner.

Love the site, bought the headphones partly because of this review, they’re awesome.
    Thanks!

i am not a bass head but i still want a little bit of bass in my headphone so that i can enjoy the song . but i also dont want to compromise on the mids and and highs & clarity…DO YOU RECOMMEND SHURE SRH940? SHOULD I BUY THESE HEADPHONES??

If you want a bit more bass go with the SHR840′s they have a bit more bottom and are still nice cans.

shure 840′s dont have that much clarity in mids and highs as compared to 940′s..dats what i dont want to compromise on either

As my father used to say “Its a hard road finding the perfect cans boy”.
