This week I show you one of the best ways to cut up drumloops during a live performance. This setup can be done on other controllers however the Launchpad layout works really well with it. One of the great things about this is you can set it to your own percussion competency level, from seasoned pro drummer to first timer. And I think it would be just as much fun for either.

Also I want to mention the release of Throwing Hammers Vol 3 from Kilotone which my main musical outlet, If you like a bit of darkness check it out.

    Thanks for the quick reply!
Do you know of another way of doing this within Live itself? I’m trying to figure out how to get the functionality shown in this video (at 2:33). http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=lTx3G6h2xyA#t=154s

Looks like Madeon is using User Mode 1 and each row is a separate note (and there’s LED feedback!). Thanks again for the help.

Not sure how hes done it tbh. I can think of a few hack ways to do it. How you suggested or you could have all a grid of dummy clips and hardmap the user1 pads.
Have you tried asking the Madeon?
I would be interested to hear how hes done it.

First of all thx alot Rupert, great tutorial stuff always! For this tutorial i do not get the reason for doing it in automap mode, as far as i see you can do the same in standard session view?!
