Thanks Dodo,
In regards to speeding up the process I recommend slowing down. If your only punching in midi data there is no reason you cant slow the project right down making it easier to play your beat in time then wind backup once you've got it. Also turn down the quantization so its not destroying your groove. Another tip is to play each sample in at a time. So record just the kick then then the snare etc.
I might do a post on this but I have a huge list of stuff to talk about at the moment!

Yo Mr DSP,

Great review! Was wondering if there was any info on drum programming around.
I know what the grooves are that I want to make but take a long time to find them on the arrange page. I’ve playing the grooves in but that takes a while since I am not a drummer and quantising always seems to turn the grooves into something else. What can I do to speed up the process?
Please can you post something on drum programming?

Hey thanks Phillip,
Great to have you on board. Yeah the launchpad can do allot for just a button grid, if Novation are smart enough to hook me up I would like to dig deeper.

And yes I will be doing videos on the APC40 in the future including live performance stuff. Thanks for the feedback on the volumes I will keep that in mind.

Cool review, I did not realize how much you can do with the launchpad.
I just ordered the APC 40… I was hoping to get some more information on that… ??? (Maybe in the future)? How about a video showing some ways of using the APC when playing live?

I’ll check back regularly =)

PS: Just my opinion, but if you’d cut down the volume of the background music a little, it would make watching the video much more relaxing.
